Casa Grande provides luxury Mozambique self-catering accommodation to a variety of guests, from couples and families to holiday groups, accommodating eight to ten persons in comfort. Absolutely no facility has been overlooked, particularly taking into account the remote location and the unreliability of public utilities.
The house is permanently staffed to ensure that it remains in prime condition at all times and that all reasonable needs are met. It provides a luxurious base from which to participate in all pastimes, from deep-sea fishing and scuba diving to surfing.
Acommodation The house, built on walled-in grounds of 1200 sq.m., has some 500 sq.m. under roof and is a generously spacious residence. It has a lounge on each floor and there are four bedrooms, the master bedroom having an en-suite bathroom: there is a second bathroom on the ground floor. The study serves as an occasional 5th bedroom and there are outdoor ablutions to serve the outdoor lifestyle. Dining is accommodated on the covered patio, serviced from a designer kitchen with both electric and gas cooking facilities.
An outdoor laundry room is equipped with washing machine, chest freezer and bar fridge.
The house is tiled throughout, well-appointed with first-class fixtures and fittings, and furnished in style as far as the tropics permit. The house is fitted to be essentially mosquito-proof, apart from being regularly sprayed to eliminate those insects which penetrate the defenses. One cannot ignore the fact that Mozambique is, unfortunately, a malarial country.
For those wishing to stay in touch with world news there is a satellite TV installation with a quality flat screen, also a DVD player for the kids’ favourite movies. Outside, the mature and well-tended garden encloses a 30 sq.m. pool which is a full 2m deep at the deep-end, permitting scuba training and testing of equipment.
The house retains the services of 3 staff, for all-day domestic service, night-time security, and general property management. The property manager is a general factotum, fluent in English and Portuguese, who doubles as driver of the Mitsubishi Pajero 4x4, garaged at the house. The house has a double garage, providing ample and secure vehicle accommodation.
